I've used this material for prep form my CBAP exam, altogether with the WML online study exam and BABOK.I can't say i was overwhelmed by this material. It is essentially in 90% copy&paste of the babok, sometimes seasoned with subjective comments of the authors; and sometimes restructured (so for example, the techniques are described after a knowledge area instead in one chapter as in BABOK).
Their ITTO diagrams are straight useless an confusing (too much info and essentially copy&paste of the overall inputs/outputs of the chapter).
Sometimes the things are described overly verbosely and often i've found, that a concept elaborated in the book was much confusing/complex to grasp, than in the BABOK (example: the business case chapter).
The overall impression about this book is: the authors wanted to make good money, so they compiled this book. It is 90% (truely) copy&paste of the BABOK, sometimes with slightly twisted wording and comments. They use a nothingsaying "BABOK says" formulations, giving a false illusion of insider tips.
Lastly, the CBAP exam quite relies on using specific wordings and formulations, which ironically you are jeopardizing to grasp, because of the different structure and wording of this book.
In my opinion, one can achieve better results, if the time invested into the reading of this book is rather invested into re-reading again and again the babok + doing the online exams.
To also say something positive: they do sometimes drill down on some of the harder concepts and give examples (not too much, though). They also give tips about the exam (in the introduction chapter). None of this stuff is gold IMO and one can safely compensate these, by reiterating the BABOK again and again.

Got the book and read it 3 times as well as the BABOK. The authors supplemented the BABOK very well and explained/cleared up some areas better. There is a Glossary of CBAP terms and practice questions. The authors also did a great job on explaining the tools a BA can use and where they are applied within the knowledge areas and tasks. I passed the exam on my first try! Thank you - a CBAP in Connecticut
Indeed the best Guide on the market. We are using it as part of our courses in Germany at masVenta and we are getting excellent feedback all the time. Some of our students have compared it to other Guides and the clearly prefer this one.Structured, easy to read and full of mnemonics with which we always have a lof of fun in the courses. Another nice ingredient is the 5 days trial subscription of the Online Study Exam Simulator, a key success factor for anybody who applies for the exam. If you can fully focus the last five days on using the Online Simulation you might not need to subscribe for further days. Im any case I recommend to do at least 2-3 full-blown exam simulations with 150 questions in 3.5 hrs (no breaks, no books, no food, no cigarettes ;-). If you have more than 80% you are lucky and can make your appointment. I have passed my exam that way already 4 yrs ago.
This is definitely the worst exam guide i have ever used to prepare for an exam.
Many sections are just quoting text from the BABoK, without adding one single word of explanation, ...don't know what is the guide in that.
Many sections are poorly structured, stuffing too much information into a big paragraph of text, without bothering organizing this into the form of headings, sub-headings, and brief bullet points...don't know what is the guide in that.
Many paragraphs are simply trivial; you can't get a piece of useful information from it, just a waste of space and time...don't know what is the guide in that.
I am expecting WaterMark to re-consider all that issues in the upcoming releases of the book, but for me i don't expect to recommend it as a training provider for any of my friends.
It was very worthy buying this book. Good review of the BABOK chapters, but also great value in the 5-day access to their website, where there are tons of questions, both by topic and full-blown 150 exam simulations. The questions very similar to the ones in the exam. Some of the mnemonics that they suggest in the book are useful as well (I wished they had more of those). I passed the CBAP test at first attempt in June 2016, after using this book ... but also after reading the BABOK 3 times.
